Hey all,
First we have to say sorry because we havent been bothered to write for awhile quite frankly. Been having a great time though....so you can understand :-p
We did end up going to Sentosa that day before our flight in Singapore. Was pretty cool..took the cable car over which was exciting but scary. Very high i'll tell ya. We just had a look around the island and had lunch and then went back to the hostel to get a taxi to the airport. Thinking that we had enough money to catch a cab (12 S$) we were pretty relaxed for the first half of the trip. Then i (fi) began to get a bit worried and asked the driver how much he thought it would cost. Hahaha he estimated S$5 more than we had....so we told him that we couldnt pay him blah blah. He just told us that if it was more he would wait whilst we went to the ATM. Luckily for us we were only like 30c over when we arrived as there was nothing to give him in our ATMs haha. MAde for a stressful journey though.
Singapore airport is heaven (except for the odd men holding massive arse guns which i didnt remember being there the last time i was there.) So clean....I showed ben my lil cactus garden which although being unimpressed with, he agreed to have a few photos there. Its pretty cool....
Our second trip to Thailand was pretty awesome. We decided to splurge (ben actually convinced MEEEE) and we stayed at the luxury novotel suvarnabhumi. It was soooo awesome. Felt very very rich and lawfully used the swimming pool there. Stayed there for two AWESOME AWESOME nights...took one trip into bangkok centre and went to the Night Bazaar again for some souveniers...but mainly just sat by the pool. Was GREAT.
Our trip to London was pretty random. After a very long wait at Bangkok airport we finally boarded the plane. However whoever packed up the plane is a retard because nothing was balanced so they had to re-pack it. An hour later we took off. We were disappointed to learn that unlike the Qantas flight to Bangkok BA does not let us choose our movies. Having to follow a stupid schedule just didnt work for us as we tended to fall asleep and wake up half way through a movie. But oh well....it did go quite quickly even if we did do the usual 10 loops at heathrow before landing.
Met up with Granny and Uncle Peter as we went through customs. Ben was quite excited about using his british passport for the first time and being a british citizen haha. Was quite hilarious. It was so nice to just have people there to pick us up and take us home. The house is exactly as i remember it from when i was a kid living over here. It is nice to just be settled for a while before we conquer Europe.
Since arriving we have just been looking for work and working our way around the west end and cbd. Havent seen too many tourist attractions yet. Shopping in Oxford and Regents Streets has occupied us for quite some time. We did see Big Ben though which Ben absolutely loved. I have a feeling he may take us there again soon. Maybe to go on the Eye.
Its really nice just to be able to walk around and know that we are now locals...we have joined the electoral roll hehe and are setting ourselves up with everything we need to be a real local. This will be much easier as everything is soooo expensive over here. We are managing so far....but yes i think we really need work soon.
We went and visited Gt Kingshill which is where I grew up. We firstly went up to visit my friend Claire (love ya girl) and stayed with her at her Uni (uni of hertfordshire) and we had a good night out at the local student union club. After WAAAAAAAY too many beers (ben) and jack daniels (also ben) and jager bombs (SOOOO cheap here) and a bit of drunken hurling by dear benny we crashed for a short time before having Claire drive us over to Gt Kingshill. We went and visited her dad and then had lunch in Wycombe which was nice. Didnt remember toooo much of Wycombe but all of Gt Kingshill was very familiar. Had a quick catch up with Anna who lived next door to Claire and across the road from me..and Katie came home from her Uni in Sheffield for Easter which was AWESOME as we could catch up with her too. Was really a great couple of days (Good seeing anne and mike too) and yes parents I took lots of photos of everyone and the street. Dad let me know when you have seen them....
Ummm what else....oh yes have found some funny Australian bars. Good beers apparently excepy fosters still seems to be the no1 aussie beer here. Ben is glad to have normal beer over here as in Asia he had to drink Singah, Anchor, 333 and Tiger. All s*** like VB he said. But yeah....
Oh and we also went and saw Les Miserables. Was AWESOME!!!! Even my non musical loving boyfriend said it was awesome. I remember it was sooo good when i saw it in Australia....just as good now. LOVED IT! We got cheap tickets earlier in the day in Leicster Square. SOooo glad we saw it. There are like 20 other musicals i want to see. This may be a problem for us hahaha.
Off to cook dinner now really. Will update again when anything interesting happens. Other than that will just do the usual myspace and facebook thing.
EVERYONE COOL HAS TO GET FACEBOOK. Its the only thing people over here use. Myspace is out now apparently haha...facebook is in. Or so i have been told.
Lots of love to everyone
Fiii and ben xoxo
