Hello friends.

The blog is back!!!! We are now in Barcelona, Spain....quite possibly the coolest most awesomest place on earth. Had a pretty early flight (luckily we got driven to the airport despite angry heathrow protesters yay) which did not go down too well. OMG though so worth it. Plane ride was ok....didnt sit us together though which was lame but we couldnt be bothered fighting it. We were pretty excited...reading our spanish language book (yes even ben) pracitising how to ask for a stamp in our passports when we went through immigration. That seems to be the only curse of having the British passport....people just dont seem to care. Flash it from 100 metres away and ur free to do what u want. We didnt even get checked leaving heathrow. Oh well. Yes our excellent spanish (un sello por mi paseporte) seemed to do the trick and we both have lovely lovely souvenir stamps to document our arrival.

However our other attempts at the spanish so far have failed miserably. Shocked at the food prices on las ramblas we decided to go with a safe bet of Burger king. Ordering 2 meals there was quite possibly the most difficult task of my life to date. Bens was easy (1 whopper por favor) however the woman did not seem to understand the concept of vegetarianism. I said it EXACTLY how the book said it.....and i kept getting this blank look. Luckily the guy next to her understood enough and managed to get me a whopper minus the meat. That was good enough for me. But he seemed to think that id changed my mind of the original whopper.....no joke like 10 mins later after she knocked a whole fanta everywhere we had 2 meals in front of us.

Umm cant even begin to describe Barcelona....its just soooo pretty. Even as we were coming out of the airport we were impressed (mainly with feeling actual SUN on our backs). Our hostel is right in the centre of town....just off las ramblas near the placa de catalunya. Man its so awesome las ramblas. I really wanted to buy many of the parrots and rabbits and ferrits for sale all the way down....but oh that would be so mean. Its soo cool. The hostel is awesome....have a great view from our little balcony (great for letting clothes dry.) Free breakfast and internet....cleanish showers cant complain.

After doing some initial sightseeing we went and had a siesta....so tired. Now we are about to go to this traveller bar where they do 1 euro dinners and pub crawls. Who knows what the night shall bring :-) Stocked up on our weet-a-bix for the next few days yay.

Anyways must be off....so many things to do so little time.
