Time for the big city :)
Woke up at homestay and went for a nice cold shower to wake me up! I then went for breakfast in which we had a bread roll and an egg! My type of breakfast, plain and easy! Then it was time to walk to the road with our bags and head to the Mekong delta floating market!
We got off the bus and onto the boat. We went towards the market which was a produce market where you can buy large amounts of fresh food. A boat selling iced coffee stopped next to us and tied to our boat for us to buy one and try! Again, very sweet but nice :) We continued to sail around the market and stopped off at the pineapple boat where you can by fresh pineapple. At this stage I climbed onto the top of the other boat to take some photos! I also had a tiny piece of pineapple, which was very fresh and juicy!
The guide on the boat was a bit strange telling us about the culture of kissing babies private parts and bottom! Weird!
After the boat we got back on the bus and headed to the big city :) after a few hours we arrived in Ho Chi Minh and checked into the hotel. We then went for a walk towards the market to have lunch. When crossing the road, there are cars and motorbikes everywhere. They won't stop for you so you have to step out into the traffic. The rules are don't stop, keep walking and don't run! This is so they can judge your speed and drive around you! Bloody crazy if you ask me!
For lunch we went to a pho restaurant, the one bill Clinton are at! I had chicken pho, which tasted a little strange, I think I prefer the ones in Australia. After lunch we walked to Notre dame and the post office. We took a few photos before heading back to the main market. The market was nuts! People pulling on you and trying to get you to buy things from their store. I only bought a hammock today as I will be back in 2 weeks to shop :)
After this it was time for a nap at the hotel before dinner. For dinner we walked to the backpacker district. I was feeling sick so I ordered a Vietnamese pancake and just ate the pastry. This still didn't help so I decided alcohol might! We went to a bar and I had a few buckets! As it was the last night we wanted to find the other group and have a drink with them. So we left and headed to another crazy bar with buckets and kept drinking. After a little while I kept feeling worse so jumped in a taxi and went back to the hotel!
