January 26th,
I arrived in London and promptly headed off to the Kings Cross St Pancras Station. London and I were at a bit of a ceasefire at the present time. I was still not sure that I appreciated what it had to offer over the multiple detractors experienced in past visits but my cousin Raquel is persistent and determined to help me enjoy London. I was to take the train to Nottingham which is to be my new home for the next six months. There were a lot of unknowns but I was extremely happy to have an Oyster card on arrival in London and a cell phone. I then had fun being stubborn trying to find the Rutland Square Hotel where I was booked rather than take a taxi but eventually I made it there and enjoyed a nice relaxing night in as it was raining out and I was proper tired. (fyi the word proper is often used in England in place of very or good)
The next day I had a "proper" sleep in before heading out to explore my new home town for the next six months. I bought some things that I thought would be important for when I was able to move in on Sunday afternoon. It was either raining or threatening to rain but otherwise a lovely time to arrive.
p.s. in the original blog I had deleted three long paragraphs in the stroke of a key, still don`t know how. Isn`t it funny that my nephew is proud to be techy like his Aunty Tan :) . Computer problems do come along with the territory of having technology though. I was already regretting my decision to attempt my stay with just my ipad tablet as my laptop is quite heavy.
Also, a lovely English nurse prewarned or informed me that this area is known for calling everyone Duck. So rather than saying Hello Love they would say Hello Duck or Duckie.

Nitisha Armstrong I wonder where the 'duck and Duckie' started and why? Looking forward to scoping out the photo section ;) Hint hint...
Tanya Hi Nitisha :) I hope this helps a little. I have not been able to get a clear answer on where Ducky started but I hope you are enjoying some of the photos on here. I am playing with a new app called 100 pictures and want to put some of those versions on here as well. Thank you for keeping in touch and encouraging my love of photography as well :) Miss you.
