Day One: Arrived in San Francisco (In one piece!)

Well one thing is for sure. BA285 London Heathrow to San Francisco is definitely not British Airways' flagship service. Our national carrier must have dragged its oldest 747 out of mothballs to take us across the Atlantic today.

Even the inflight entertainment malfunctioned. Mind you, it must be hard getting spare parts for a Betamax system these days!

But here we are and thank God the next time we will step on a BA flight will be on the last leg home to Manchester in three weeks time.

Our hotel is a short walk away from Fisherman's Wharf so we decided to do just that. Dinner was at (surprise, surprise) the Hard Rock Cafe. Sixteen branches visited - just another 139 to go!

It's now about 3.35am back in the UK which means I've been up for almost 24 hours. So off I go.
