Day 7 - Clitheroe to Appleby-in-Westmorland complete. After a good nights rest and another of George's now famous bacon and egg butties we set off in beautiful sunshine from Clitheroe accompanied by Ian Leach who joined us for the days cycle. The morning started well with the miles rolling by pretty quickly so we decided to take an early stop for lunch. After resisting the black sheep ale and for once eating a semi sensible nutritional meal (spag bog, with extra chips of course) we set off again and quickly realized that Cumbria was going to be MUCH tougher than Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales! Some of the hills were brutal but we still finished in record time and managed to have a relax and a couple of beers before my parents came across from the North East to join us for some pub grub. Mrs C brought enough food with her to feed a small army, most of which we have already demolished!
