Day 6 - Nantwich to Clitheroe complete. Beautiful scenery, picturesque towns, lovely people, today's route had none of them. After a lovely night eating steak pie and drinking beer with the Holdcroft's we set off well rested and ready to take on the day ahead. However, after yet another mis-navigation from Louis and a six mile detour in exactly the opposite direction we arrived back in Nantwich thinking this might not be our day. An hour later, and still somewhere on the Nantwich bypass our fears were confirmed. It was slow going all the way through Northwich, Warrington, Leigh, Bolton and Blackburn with numerous stops to ask directons. Unfortunately the only peoplr available to point us in the right direction hadn't left the local pub let alone the local area in years! The journey was almost worth it for the views at the end out over Cumbria. Tomorrow will be hilly but hopefully much more enjoyable now the urban jungle that is the North West is behind us.
