Flew into Bangkok and stayed at the Rainbow Hostel, just off the Khao San (amazing location).
Spent the first day going to Siam Paragon Shopping Centre which was enormous!!! After a month in India we all splashed out on a pedicure there and enjoyed sitting there for an hour and a half in a massage chair- sweet!! First time we ate meat in a month (we were veg in India) so treated ourselves to a McDonalds- gross I know but we sure needed it (it isn't the only one we've had). The next day we went to The Grand Palace which was just beautiful, one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Got some fab pictures of it. Although me and Ami weren't dressed properly so they gave us this long wrap around skirt to wear OVER our clothes, with a really scabby nicoine coloured shirt- very attractive indeed. After we gave the clothes back I saw them give them straight over to someone else (it was a very hot day so you can image the grossness of them- enough said)!!Then went to Wat Pho which is the massive reclining buddha- it was awesome. Then of course we sampled the shopping on Khao San and then sampled the buckets.....ended up in this rooftop bar with a live band which was fab (the Thai guys actually sounded English they were so good). Next day we had a fish massage on our feet which felt so wierd, it was like pins and needles for 25mins. Me and Ami couldn't stop laughing for about 10mins with tears streaming down our faces because it was such a strange sensation. After that I met my Big Sis Emma who lives in Bangkok and we had drinks into the early hours (with a flight to Hong Kong in the morning.....yes....NOT very smart)!!! We seriously ate soooo much pad thai from the streets it was awesome!!
Oh....almost forgot to say that in our hostel we were in a dorm room of 8 people, we were sharing with a really crazy lady from the states and she was meditating in the room and stuff and started talking about killing people (she was thrown out the next day for refusing to pay her bill....she was about 60- very odd). She kept making phonecalls back to the states and we all joked it was to her therapist....if it wasn't, then she seriously needs to get one!!
Next day....flew to Hong Kong for 5 nights.
