Smooth, sophisticated, sumptuous. We're on a roll here today in Melbourne. A cute little laneway establishment on the famous Degraves St, this coffee was a simple, tasty flavour. Perfect temperature, and technically perfect, it was a good effort, but not outstanding.

A relatively civilised sanctuary in the bustle of Melbourne Airport, this cafe serves Campos coffee, which attracted us above the other chain offerings (tempting though 'Muffin Break' is...). Foxy strongly disliked this cup, probably because he was reading a snooty coffee book while drinking it. He thought the milk had an odd flavour, and the foam was too thick. I rather enjoyed mine, as the foam was a little finer, and Campos is one of our preferred bean...

An arsty coffee brunch place opposite our air bnb in Moonee Ponds, the coffee here was of a good standard, but not great. Points for proximity, and (half) the food, but otherwise it was quite forgettable. A mild roast, it was served a good temperature, yet had no journey or distinguishing features generally. AF

In the starry area of Block Arcade, this promised much from a self styled Italian place. Quite overrated. Not a flat white, more like a white coffee with cappuccino foam. Too dark a roast, and no journey. These reviewers did not approve.The accompanying Haighs dark chocolate we brought along helped it immeasurably! AF

Today is tennis day! We checked the weather forecast yesterday, and it's bad news. Today is supposed to be 36 degrees, and having checked out the tennis complex when we went to the cricket, there is very little shade (if any). Fabulous.
