Initially served too hot (particularly distressing on a day when it's already 29 degrees C at 10am). Once it had cooled, this was a decent flat white - medium to dark roast, and good body. Once it had cooled further, however, the flavour wasn't so good; too bitter and a weird, shrinking effect on the tongue, like when you eat a sloe. Different. AB

Overlooking Federation Square, we were served two different flat whites. So marks down for inconsistency. Solid monotone effort. Mine was stronger and fuller, Alice's milky and smoother... But was too thin as it cooled. So contrasting fortunes then. (Alice was looking longingly at the iced coffee... Says it all really!)AF

A takeaway cup from a crepe and coffee vendor on the outskirts of a gay pride festival. It was fab! Deep monotone flavour, at the right temperature, with a decent amount of milk also. Impressed. Possibly better than this morning's!

Left our gorgeous, show room bungalow to grab a coffee back in the heart of Bendigo. A coffee shop we spotted next to yesterday's Chinese restaurant - very arty indeed! As we arrived, a local man at the bar looked to sell us his chopping board (random??) We're to assume he's wasn't all there, but he had turned his hand to 'woodcrafts' as a means of making some kind of a living. So the shop allowed him to sell his chopping boards for $18 ea...

A cool, quirky cafe, which had adopted a chap called Luke, who was attempting to sell his handmade chopping boards to each customer. This coffee was another hug in a mug. While hugging you, it whispers "Go on, get out there. You can do it. I believe in you." in your ear. It's a very friendly, encouraging sort of coffee.Larger than a standard small flat white, although it hadn't become a latte. It still had all the components of a flat white, with strength...
