Only managed about one collective hours sleep on the night bus. A poor child was coughing the whole way and we had the windows open because it was so hot, therefore creating a wind tunnel!
Once we began to unload after 800km and 9 hours driving, off came sleepy G Adventures people, off came the crying baby, off came the public, off came the rucksacks and off came the chickens and bamboo plants!
We had a transfer from Trujullo to a nearby beach town called Huanchaco (pronounced Wanchaco as I found out!). We went for a walk to get a good feel for the town and found an ok, cheap looking place for breakfast... It was cheap but the food wasn't ok! Scrambled eggs should not be like that! We went and had some passionfruit sorbet for 1 sole afterwards and that made everything better.
It was a pretty relaxing day as we were all pretty tired so no plans were made. We did go out for lunch at a place Jekka recommended called Big Ben. Boy was it flash! Aimie and I went ceviche again and this was quite possibly the best ceviche EVER. This is from me with 'all' of my experience with ceviche! But it was very good. Even better was the frozen juice we had... If you are going to buy juice, get it frozen!
En route back to the hotel whilst wandering through the colourful markets, we were asked by peruvians if they could have a photo with us! How ironic. I had a wee siesta after lunch and some went for a swim before watching some films and more sleep!
Another place with no hammocks... We will have to make do with chairs!
