With an early start to the day today we got ready and where picked up to go on a 'floating markets and tiger temples' tour booked with Sta travel. We set off on a mini bus which took about an hour to get there. Once we arrived we got onto a engine powered boat which took us down the water. We arrived at the main market and had a look around before purchasing a ticket (200 baht each) to go on a push boat around the markets. The markets sold street food, souvenirs, clothing and much more. The passages where very busy and the boats pushed each other out the way in order to get passed. As I was feeling slightly hungover to say the least I felt very sick and the smell of the water did not help!! A friendly lady from one of the stalls threw me a herbal inhaler (nice smells) which really helped. Afterwards we set off on the mini bus and went to an elephant sanctuary. We were not sure if we wanted to ride one as they didn't look very well looked after but out tour guide Pan said we should and contributed 200 baht to the 1200 baht price of the ride. We got on the elephants back and went on a scenic jungle style trek which went through the water!! The smell was so intense of poo I was gipping, and finally was sick over the side of the elephant. (Lol) we finally got off them and back onto the mini bus, our next stop was a furniture shop. Not really sure why they brought us here As who's gonna buy big pieces of furniture while travelling around Thailand??
Still not feeling well I asked the tour guide Pan to take me back to my hotel but was told it was not possible. We set off after being there for 45 minutes to go to the river Kwai. On the mini bus there I started throwing up into a souvenir bag and the bus driver pulled over. I asked him again to take me back to my hotel but said there was no way. After 20 minutes of trying to flag down a taxi Pan bought us a bus ticket back to Bangkok. We were left at the bus stop as the tour went on. The bus finally came after 15 minutes and the journey was long and tedious. It took about 2 hours. Once we arrived back in Bangkok we got a taxi back to our hotel. We rested for a few hours and went out for dinner at a near by restaurant. I got chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce; it was amazing. After the meal we went to one of the massage parlours. we both got a back and neck massage for a hour at 200 baht each which is like £5!! It was pretty intense we Laid on parallel beds and had the full works. It was pretty painful but didn't dare tell them so just laid there and took it. Afterwards we went to country bar for a drink and then back to the hotel. We were feeling rather peckish and ordered the chicken peanut satay sticks from room service. They were amazing. Falling asleep was easy.
