What with the time difference and day light saving our sleep patterns are still all over the place. It doesn't get dark until 10.30/11pm so we find ourselves eating much later then normal and hence not getting to bed until much later. Jonathan and the kids seem to manage to sleep until about 8.30 to catch up a bit but I, unfortunately am up much earlier. It's a good opportunity to have some quiet time, catch up on the blog and this morning take some photos in this lovely quiet country farm village but I am aware it's going to catch up on me at some stage. It would have been lovely to go for a run this morning but I seem to have caught the children's sore throat so the run will have to wait for another time.
As we only have one day here I think we'll explore the limestone caves which they use for mushroom growing, storing wine and building troglodyte houses. Hoping for a bit of wine tasting as well...
Talking of wine Guy and Martine who own the house we are staying in kindly left us a bottle of Chinon cab franc (Domaine de Grezille) and a bowl of home grown cherries as a welcoming gift. They very kindly met us on our arrival and showed us around. The house was Guy's great grandfathers which was a working farm up until 1980s . It has all the old wooden beams in the ceiling and enormous fire places - not that we'll be needing them as it's forecast to reach 30 C today! The house has a lovely garden which the kids will enjoy later on, as they did at Claude and Alain's. The lack of space in London and Paris was a bit of a shock to them! Brodie mentioned the other day he's been feeling a little homesick so being able to run around on the grass and pat a dog in the market made all the difference to him. He'll love being at Quitterie's in a few days as they have a gorgeous big dog he can play with.

Kirsten We are reliving the Loire with you. Loved hearing about Breze and the caves from Sophie and Brodie. Have fun at Puy de Fou and keep well :) You'll need to come home for a holiday!
