Bar in Freshwater bay
It's pretty quite here so we chose the place with the best atmosphere. It's the dive bar on the road which has great tunes and is painted lovely bright colours !
Dinner was never going to be exceptional here. Our expectations were v low. This island is bizarrely expensive. So this dish was €6 which sounds rather cheap but when a full 3 course lunch is 2.5 on the mainland you can see what I mean.
Fish- he said it was turbot. It was so well fried it was hard to tell. We also got fried yuca and some plantain. The yuca was crazy dry and very bland. Pretty much like cardboard. Plantain was nice and sweet. Added some ketchup and hot sauce to the dish and it was fine.
We hadn't eaten anything but crackers and porridge for a few days so it was still a welcome change.
We will have our own kitchen soon but at the moment we are sharing the family one.
