Sorry I'm behind on my journal entries! Friday we went out to dinner at Queen Anne's Revenge on Daniels Island.Queen Anne's Revenge is a restaurant serving anything from steak and seafood to sandwiches and salads. They claim to be the only restaurant of its kind dedicated to the authentic history of piracy along the Carolina coast. Ours is the exploration of the "Golden Age of Piracy," circa 1690-1730, through a unique collection of artifacts and items from the period. I had a well known cuisine famous in the Lowcountry - Shrimp and Grits.I heard that each restaurant has their own version of this delicious dish, but the basics are grits, shrimp and cheese. We then headed off into Mt. Pleasant and visited Ft. Moultrie, the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier and the US Clamagore submarine.Seeing these military marvels gave me a new respect for those that fight for our freedom. It was a great day full of great food and interesting history!I'm looking forward to visiting downtown Charleston tomorrow!
