Tales from Afar...
So, here I am sat in the Reef beach cafe on Anse des Sables in the South of St Lucia. The bech is an absolute marvel. The sun is hot, but tempered delighfully by the atlantic breezes (which afford this place the reputation for the best windsurfing and kite-surfing spot on the island). Sadly, i haven't tried my hand at Kite surfing (too expensive!!!) but i have very much enjoyed the 6'4" Dutch guy who's been practising endlessly over the last few days.
It's seriously laid back down here...the locals are all really friendly as are the other "tourists" staying here. None of them are truely tourist tho: more hardened fans of extreme sports! Went to a karaoke jump-up last night with the massive dutch guy, a crayzee surf instructor from Barbados and a lovely but VERY straight laced Canadian (who was rather amusing after 1-too-many "Pitons". All jolly good fun, and i must confess the Piton (local beer) is actually rather delicious...unlike the rum and coke in which there is considerably more of the former than the latter!
Off to the North to Rodney Bay this afternoon, to where all the tourists are. Hopefully gonna meet up with one of the other kite-surf instructors and his good lady wife and hit the town for a boogie. Then, getting the ferry to Dominica on sunday, where a whole new adventure awaits...
Love and miss you all,
F Xx
P.s. passed the old exams! whoppee! I'm a final year Baby! Xx
