Hey Hey everyone
So, i've done the Whitsundays tour over the last 2 days and it was FANTASTIC! The photo above is onje of the photos i took from the boat of the sunset - beautiful!!! It was just wicked to chill out on a boat, calm sea, watching fish swimming all around you. I absolutely loved it, and if you've never been you've gotta do it. Whitehaven beach got rained out, but as you can see from the photos, it was still just an amazing place. The wirls in the sea and the sand make it such a beautiful place, and i don't think i'll see something like it ever again!
Each night on the boat was spent just having some beers, not getting drunk but enjoying ourselves really. Had to share a bed with Adam which he wasn't happy with, and as i keep getting called big gay bear, i think he was genuinely scared to cosy up next to me! He got through it though, unscathed! The crew were really really hyper ALL the time, and everything was "Super-cool" or "Wicked", which was starting to get very annoying after the thousanth time of being said! But in the end they were all loads of fun, and chilled with us in the evenings. Went diving again, and saw a huge fish called George. He was a Mauri Ray, or something like that, but he was a big old boy. Really friendly, he would just swim up to your face and give you a little wiggle on your nose. As long as you didn't crap yourself as he swam up to you (he was about 4ft long, so he was BIG!) it was great fun. Me Shez and Adam thought it would be even better to harpon him and fry him up with some lemon and salt, but that went down about as well as a sh*t sandwich, so we gave up on that idea! Oh, did you know that Nemo's actually change sex? Oh yeah!!! There is only one dominant female, and when she dies the most dominant male turns into the new female! Freaky. Apparently this is a common trait in the sea, and we were glad to be away from all the gender-bending after a while! Eveyday is a school day kids!
Anyway, back to tales of nights out! Got here last Thursday, where we checked into our hostel - Beaches. It's got a bar to it which is where we've spent everynight on dry land getting beer/wine/mojitos/shots/etc/etc in, and chatting with random people. We keep meeting people that we made friends with in other places, for example Caroline and Sarah were 2 girls we met on Maggie Island and we bumped into them again here. It's really cool, cos it makes you feel like you've always got mates around, and if you haven't you've just gotta get up, start a conversation with someone and make some friends! Easy.
It's Tuesday night tonight, and we are chilling out before we head off for Kroombit tomorrow at 6am! Went out for a huge night out last night to celebrate getting off the boat, which was wicked. But getting in at 3am was just mess mess mess! Felt rough all day but managed to go for a run with Shez to feel better about myself.
Not much to say about Airlie, apart from the fact that everynight is Saturday night. It's a non-stop party, which suits us lot down to the ground. Keep meeting people, and now there are 6 of us lads in a group going down to Fraser Island together to do the driving 2 night 3 day tour in a camper van! Mark, Danny and Luke are 3 Manchester lads who are joining us, good fun and all a bit wet behind the ears, so everything is AMAZING for them cos it's all new! Should be loads of fun.
Anyway, off to have a beer before bed.
Hope your all doing well back on dry land, and i'll check in with you soon
Love ya
Fender xx
