Since we last spoke I have been on a bit of a fitness regime! Hopefully I will lower my blood pressure the natural way and will be able to stop the tablets.
Last Thursday I took the local blue bus to Nai Harn beach where I did a lot of swimming. It was too hot to sit on the beach so I sat under the trees listening to mellow music on my iPhone. I had a nice chicken and rice dish for lunch in one of the beach restaurants and late afternoon I took the blue bus back. It was a very peaceful day (well apart from the bus ride). The driver insists on beeping his horn all the way back to alert people he's coming through and anyone can wave him down to stomp and climb on board. Even when it's full!!
In the evening I went out for dinner with Emilio and we stopped in the Rockin' Angels bar on the way back to listen to some live music by a local band. It was quite good!
Friday I went out for a long walk for a couple of hours. I walked to the large supermarket called Robinsons and stocked up on some beetroot juice.
I was a bit tired to make it back so jumped on a motorbike taxi to take me to the apartment. Cost of 50 bhat (that's one pound)
In the evening I popped in to Ming Shou to visit Bun stopping in the market on the way. I bought a couple of pairs of flowery silky trousers that everyone seems to wear. I'm in the "in crowd" now!!
On the way back I had a Thai meal. Cost 60 bhat (just over a pound) and it was delicious.
Saturday I went to the opticians to get some prescription sunglasses made up. They were very thorough and tested my eyes and said I could pick them up on Tuesday. At 3.30 Maria and Emilio came over and we took a Tuk Tuk to the swimming pool at Sampan Hin. We all swam for an hour or so and then caught the pink bus back. The very difficult to understand pink bus routes. I'm going to make it my mission to understand the pink bus system before I leave. Apparently there are three bus routes all round Phuket Town. Unfortunately due to a lot of one way streets the bus has to go a different way back therein causing some confusion!! I'm going to try one out next week when I go back to Bangkok Phuket Hospital for my blood pressure check up. Or maybe that's not such a great idea!! No, I will give it a go and leave extra early just incase the pink bus goes off somewhere else.
Today I went to the Gallery Cafe for a Sunday Roast dinner. I had roast lamb and chicken and it was delicious!! I just don't think Thai food can compare to a roast dinner.
In the evening I went to the market and tried some foods that I haven't eaten before. I'm not really sure what I are but the three things I tried were very nice. Now off to bed. Goodnight!!
