Well that was a pretty nasty cold I must say!!
I had it for about five days and didn't do too much as it wiped me out.
I moved in to my new apartment. (Phuket center Apartments) on 10th January Room 304. The room is spacious with a huge bed, kitchen sink and kettle, fridge and separate bathroom with a shower. I like it and it saves me roughly half of the amount I was paying at the Guest House.
On the Sunday Maria and I took a trip to Nai Harn beach. We got a little red taxi there which takes about 30 minutes. I thought it would be quite a quiet beach but it was quite busy and I guess that's because it was a Sunday. We had lunch on the beach and I swam a lot. Emilio came down on his motorbike but we didn't see much of him as he likes to swim a few kilometers. It was a hot day and it was lovely and relaxing. We caught the local bus back which was quite fun as the driver seemed to pick up as many passengers as he could. We were like a can of sardines all packed in tightly!!
When I got back to the apartment I was quite weary!!
On the following Tue we met up with Rene at Wilai restaurant for lunch and had a good catch up. Rene was a guest at Ming Shou but went off for a couple of weeks to meet a nice Thai man a few hours drive away. He filled us in on all the news and to say he had a great time. He was going back to Switzerland the following day to sort out all his finances and then come back to Thailand to be with his new fella!! Lucky Rene - I wish him all the best.
Now for the not so great news. I went to the Bangkok Phuket Hospital on the Wednesday to be told I have got high blood pressure. Luckily I'm in the right place as the cardio unit here is renowned to be the best in Thailand. I saw lovely lady MD who gave me a check up and has put me on some pills called Twynsta. I have to take one each morning and I have a follow up appointment next Wednesday. I'm also going to change my diet and consume lots of beetroot juice, celery etc etc. I am also going to try and do cardio exercises as much as possible as I don't want to keep taking the pills and would like to lower my blood pressure in a natural way. Let's see how it goes.
Surely I shouldn't have any stress here!!
I'll keep you posted.....

Neil Holland The apartment looks very nice, though the bus trip might make me feel a bit weird! So... Quite a few months on, how is the blood pressure? x
