Tuesday, 1st December
After a very long 6 hour twisty twiney journey through the mountains we arrived in Luang Prabang, I still don't feel great so we had a quick look round and got Tom some lunch then headed back to the guest house. Later this evening we walked the 10 minutes back into town through the night market which I'm hoping to feel more up for tomorrow night, I managed to eat some tomato soup and bread then had to call it a night.
Wednesday, 2nd December
Feeling not quite so fragile this morning but still not up to eating much, slowly does it. Found some fab presents for the kids at home so now in the mood for shopping, pretty easy here there;s lots of great things.
Thursday, 3rd December
Very lazy day, drinking coffee and reading, rang Jean called Jean on Skype and it worked. It was 7:30am at home and it looked very dark and cold, nice to speak to Jean and John who are off to France for the weekend for Jean's birthday. Found a beautiful ring in the 'box shop' which is one of those ones that just caught my eye and now I can't stop thinking about it.
Friday, 4th December
We're still not sleeping very well, still waking up at 4am which even when you don't have to go to work is not for winners. Got lots of goodies for the kids from the night market, there's so much great stuff if only our bags were bigger. Rang Soph who has her 3rd scan later and is going to find out if she's having a boy or girl, saw photos of their service at mum and dad's which looked lovely. It's going to be a girl, so excited.
Saturday, 5th December
We were both up early again so walked into town to see the monks walking up to the Temple, locals line the streets with bowls and baskets of food mainly bananas and sticky rice and put it into the monks silver/gold pots as they make their way to the Temple. Got the postcards sent off, all 39 of them! The VIP bus was one of the worst yet, no loo and the lady opposite us was really not well.
