Hey guys, so it's been almost a week since i've written anything down so i best be getting to it. It was so weird being at work on a Saturday for a change, but it was just another typical day. As some of you have already seen, I have uploaded my pictures from our trip to Dallas, and OMG what an awesome day trip that was! Ok, i'm trying not to get ahead of myself. Finished work Saturday night and Kim and I went over to the other hotel for drinks and socializing...it was a great time to see so many people from all different places. We didn't stay out too late because Sunday was our big trip to Dallas (no, i wasn't excited at all).
So Sunday morning we went over and met Ed, Wanda & Mark...went for breakfast, then took off into Dallas. We took both cars because it would have been too cramped for 5 people in one car (we followed them because they had the GPS). It was a beautiful drive...really neat to see some ranches on the way. It surprised me that the houses on the ranches weren't too shabby...some of them were amazing! Just as we're starting to see the skyline in Dallas, the traffic on the interstate comes to a grinding hault. Come to find out, there is an accident up ahead so traffic is trying to get around it, and sure enough I lose Eddie and his GPS (freakin out much, i think so!). Got past the accident and with all the confusion, I wind up taking the wrong exit and got completely lost. Thank god for cell phones! Got back on track finally and by this time, the roads are going everywhere. Eventually got down into the core of Dallas where (i kid you not) there were SEVEN lanes of traffic going in each direction!! We found a spot and parked our car and just went with Ed, Wanda & Mark for the afternoon. Made our first stop up at the Galleria Mall, what an amazing mall!! I mean, this mall had everything from Old Navy, GAP, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hollister Co., Abercrombie & Fitch, and I'm pretty sure i saw a Versace store there as well. Oh yeh, and there was a skating rink in the middle of the mall. LOL
After the mall we went downtown to where JFK was shot and a guy came up and gave us the history lesson of what "allegedly" happened that day. It was really neat. They also have the "X" painted on the road where he was first shot, and another "X" showing where he was shot 2nd. Really really interesting piece of history. After that, we went to Reunion Tower and got to go up it...it only cost 2 bucks! (That's like $1.95 canadian! LOL) Took tons of pictures and headed back home.
This week at work has been a freakin zoo, let me tell you. In all honesty, I'm looking forward to some normality when I get back home...These South Central customers are really making our brains work.
Not sure what the plans are for this weekend yet...Kim and I have 2 days off. We have lots of options though...relax around longview and check out the mall here and do stuff around here...the Louisiana State Fair is going on right now in Shreveport which is only about 45 minutes away...might go back into Dallas and maybe check out the Six Flags Theme Park...or take a road trip to Hot Springs Arkansas for a relaxing getaway. So much to do, and not enough time to get it all in.
Anyways, I just realized that I'm running late. Dammit! HAHA Will write more later! Miss ya's!
