So today was a day off from work so Kim and I took a drive to Shreveport, LA (only about an hour away) to check out the Louisiana Boardwalk. This place was amazing. It is almost like a little miniature outlet town. No cars allowed, just park and walk. Unfortunately we had a wicked thunderstorm while we were there...it poured rain (and I mean poured!!) but we didn't let that dampen our spirits. We ran from store to store when the rain let up for a few seconds. Quite a few outlet stores...got some clothes at the gap and banana republic. Went to an authentic mexican restaurant for supper...it was delicious and the hospitality down here is incredible! Much thanks to Ed who let us borrow his GPS unit (so incredible...it's what actually told us where to go eat, and then took us right to the parking lot!).

Got back to Longview and figured we'd better stop at the liquor store...I got my bottle of rum and Kim bought a 60oz (yes Sixty) bottle of vodka for $10.49!! I kid you not...that is not a typo. So you know what we're doing tonight...relaxing by the pool with our sippie cups. haha

We're all heading into Dallas on Sunday to do some more sightseeing, but I'll be sure to write more before then.
