Hi Folks! On our last day in Taupo we went down to the Information Centre and booked our tickets for the ferry as its cheaper here. We just packed up our bags and had a walk about as its pretty expensive to do any activities around here. Craig had a shot at this came where you stand on the shore and try and hit golf balls of into a hole on a platform in the lake and win $15,000, on the third shot he was quite near I think as a Chinese guy went "oooohhh"! Too bad he didn't win though! The next day we took the bus down through Toranga National Park and our guide was nowhere near as fun as Dusty. We got to Wellington in the afternoon and went to get our food shopping and we went and saw Mamma Mia at the cinema which I liked and Craig hated lol! Our hostel is a bit of a hole, its all quite new made and stuff but is pretty minging and seems to be full of idiots. The kitchen is so disgusting I don't even want to eat anything from it and the people are so rude and cant seem to do dishes behind themselves and put out the lights while you are eating so they can watch films and there is also a gay guy who stares at Craig constantly which is not very comfortable lol! One of the guys in our room has papers lying around the room about his up and coming court case for Loss by deception and also was laughing to himself tonight at nothing we could see which is quite concerning. The next day we went and watched The Dark Knight again as we love it and it is the ony relatively cheap thing to do here. I think its harder here as its cold so you kind of have to spend money not like when you can just lie on the beach. We had fajitas for dinner and then went for a couple of drinks. Today we got up and phoned Qantas to change our flights so for anyone keeping track we are now going to Melbourne on 4th October not 12th October. We decided it is to expensive to stay here longer and we could do with having an extra week to work in Oz, so his meant we have to change our ski dates etc which took a bit juggling about but we managed! This afternoon we went to Te Papa museum which is really good and free to get in, it had lots of interesting stuff about NZ and evolution etc and you can touch and play with lots of things, we even get to go in a house and experience a fake earthquake! On the way back from the museum we found a British shop and got a bottle of Irn Bru and a tin of Spaghetti Hoops, yeha!! Well worth the $13!!We are leaving tomorrow to take the ferry over to the south island which we are looking forward to as there are a lot of strange people here, especially in our hostel lol!!We also have our flights booked for the way home and will be flying home via NYC where it all began lol and into Edinburgh on 12th August!! So you can all get that on your calendar lol!!Hope everyone is well. Lots of Love Eva and Craig xxx
