The Queen Mary 2 is quite lovely! We haven't sailed yet, but the cabin while not spacious is well laid out, and about the same size as our hotel room in New York was. Everyone on this ship is better dressed than probably any of the other ships we have sailed on. Lunch has been uneven: salad ingredients were minimal, but the flourless chocolate cake was divine. We are now off to our muster stations; unpacking; exploring the ship and dinner. Only two others joined us at the table for 8, but they were quite enjoyable, and so different from one another. Then dancing a bit. And why was I only asked to dance tango by the dance hosts?? I don't know tango!
I don't know what type of arrangements can be made yet for Wi-Fi, so hopefully more later!
October 30:
We slept until 11am! So much for breakfast ..so we went to the buffet for lunch. Same as yesterday. Then a quick hour of a cha cha class, and then we found that there was an introduction to iPhones, iPads and watches. We went and learned a bit - so we signed up for a 5-day series on using iproducts! As you might expect, as seniors, these devices are not as intuitive as we might like... Tonight was our formal night so we spent a few minutes preparing and primping - and met more of our table mates. We lucked out - our table mates are all lively conversationalists. The Blue Note Jazz group that we chose to spend time with this evening after dinner was the Marcus Strickland quartet. A bit too progressive for our taste, so we caught a bit of the main stage show. Once again I found that the dancers on the ship were high quality but I didn't enjoy the choreography! Oh well... Time to go back to the cabin to unwind.

edaghallinan OMG: iPad lessons! I am as envious of that as I am the cruise! What a great beginning. Dance classes, technology classes, someone to cook for you and an evening of Jazz. Life doesn't get much better!!!
