Another restful start to the morning. John and Tom finish another window renovation. Sally and Ian head in to St Benoit for the pharmacy and supermarche.
It seemed such a waste to be indoors on a fine day, who knows how many more we'll get, so we headed off for a drive after lunch. After much circular driving, following well positioned French signposts, we asked the GPS woman how to get to the Chateau de la Brosse, near Chaillac. John then directed us to Chezalet, another lovely chateau set among immaculately manicured lawns.
We took a few farm tracks back to Chaillac to wash the car at the lavage. At one point we had to turn around as the lump in the middle of the track was only really passable by tractor!
Tom cooked his first dinner for everyone, under the watchful eye of Ian, consisting of carrots, corn, mashed spud and chippolatas, Delicious! After dinner we took a last oppurtunity to spot the activities of some nocturnal creatures. Driving from Lignac to Tilly on towards Bealieu and back, down the small country roads overgrown with trees, we saw hedgehogs, frogs, owls and, a favorite with all, a few small bats, in the headlights.
