Hello everyone,
Last time we spoke we were in Taman Negara so lets pick it up where we left off. We went on a night safari, which didn't turn out to be that great. It was ok, we saw some Leopard Cats, a Kingfisher, another bird and some cows etc. (normal stuff) but it was an ok drive through the woods at night. One other down side was that I got bit ( again) by another animal, this time a huge insect (not a bat as I first thought). The insect was big enough to make me bleed though, I'm keeping all my arms firmly inside boats when we're in Australia seen as everything seems to find me so tasty. First a dog, then an ant, then a fish now a big walking leaf (not a mantis though I don't think).
The day after we went to the Cameron Highlands, the journey up was good saw loads of nice scenery; tea plantations and loads of big hills. When we got there it was chucking it down so we had to dash to the back of the van and get our rain coats on, luckily we found a hotel just where the mini van dropped us off so we didn't have far to go. That afternoon we explored town and treid to find a trail to a waterfall but got a little lost so chilled at the hotel watching the rain. The day after we went on a tour where we went to a strawberry farm (tasty jam), a bee farm (not that good just a load of boxes and bees, I thought they'd show us more), a rose garden (nice flowers), a butterfly farm (nice butterflies but also huge insects) and the BOH Tea Plantation. The views around the tea plantation were stunning and it was interesting to go in the factory and see how tea was made (I'm just sad like that, Elisa wasn't too bothered by that bit). After the tour we went on a little walk but the trail got quite steep so we didn't finish it and decided to go back to the hotel. Elisa also discovered some cute kittens in a cupboard in the hotel, which she wouldn't leave alone. The morning after we moved onto Kuala Lumpur. The coach was quite posh and we had loads of leg room so had a good journey down. We decided to stay in China Town in KL so when we arrived we had a wander round, after we had explored China Town we went to Central Market where they have loads of local arts and crafts, and souvenir shops. They also had some stall where you could get your future read for you using traditional chinese methods but we decided against it. The next morning we went to see the Petronas Towers, which are really cool and tall. We tried to go up to the sky bridge but turned out it was closed on Mondays. We also had a look around the mall that is beneath them, after that we went to the Menara Tower but didn't go up to the top because we're too tight and thought it was too expensive, we watched a video about it though and had a walk around the bottom. We decided to see China Town by night, so we grabbed some Satay then had a wander around and sat in a cafe when it started to rain. The following day we went to the Lake Gardens, where we saw some deer (the park itself was quite nice, I prefer Lumphini in Bankgok though). In the afternoon we went to watch a movie and have a break from sightseeing, we went to see Paul, was funny. Then we went and had some drinks near the Petronas Towers, a bit different from China Town especially when it comes to price! Today we tried to go onto the sky bridge again but it turns out you have to get there really early in the morning to get tickets and we were too late, it just wasn't meant to be. We also got film greedy and decided to go see another film at the cinema, Pirates Of The Caribbean this time ,was good. So all in all we've had a good time in Kuala Lumpur, we did a bit of sightseeing and bit of chilling out too, we've either been on a beach in the middle of nowhere, or near a rainforest or on a hill for the past few weeks so it was nice to just do some more homely things for a change.
Tonight we get the night train to Singapore and after that it's Australia! Can't wait. Not looking forward to spending so much more money though.
Hope all's well in England and the next time you hear from us we could be in OZ.
