ok, so it has been a few weeks since I last updated the blog.
I am now back in Sing Buri after spending the last couple of weeks in different places.
The first week was spent trekking in a National Park ("poi toi"?). This was in a very remote are of Thiland west of bangkok near the border. The journey was painful we were sat in the back of a truck with all our bags and the worst roads you can imagine. The journey was worth it though.
When we actually started trekking we saw the wonders that the forest had to offer. We showered and swam in the waterfalls, squeezed through caves and witnessed stunning wildlife. We spent four days camping at the top of a very big hill. During the day this was great as the views were amazing. However, at the night the wind seemed to come from nowhere and try and uproot our tents (I didn't have tent pegs!). While trekking the guide/navigator was Pudd. Pudd was a cool characted, he main interests are singing, playing the guitar and generally having a good time. He introduced us to a hill tribe village and we were also invited to a wedding celebration. There was sooo much food and it was all nice and spicy.
Last week was spent on Ko Samet (the proper name for it is actually koh Samed but the americans decided to give it another name.) Koh Samed is a little island of central Thailand. It is the closest island to BangKok - therefore the island has a lot of tourism. I spent lots of time in the water, on the beach, went round the island on a moped, went on a bannana boat, went parasailing, went snorkeling, a bit of fishing (I caught a fish!) and saw some amazing fish. Oh yes, and I also did a bit of drinking and partying. I'm not sure if I would ever want to go back to Koh Samed again.
Tomorrow I actually start to do some Volunteer work. I am really looking forward to this. I have spoken to some people that were doing it last week and they had been mixing concrete. Sounds fun. I need to do a bit of manual labour.
