Dear all,
We are back in Kathmandu, after a month! We just returned from Chitwan National Park, in the south of the country near the border with India. The landscape and people are totally different, it's more subtropical and you find all sorts of wildlife here. And that's why we went - to see something else but mountains. We visited an elephant breeding centre on the first day and also saw our first rhino near the centre - quite an old one so not very dangerous and not that shy of people either. The next day we went on an elephant safari into the jungle; with 4 people on top of that huge animal we saw another rhino with a baby, deer, crocodiles, monkeys, kingfishers and egrets. Very nice...
We've got a few days left in Kathmandu, to visit a few Nepali friends, the orphanage where I used to stay and to see a few sites before we go back to Bangkok. We will try to upload the Chitwan pictures soon, as well as from Kathmandu! Till soon. xxx
