We stayed on the main island of Fiji, called Viti Levu, near to Nadi (pronounced Nandi) and tried to relax for the week, i.e. not too much sight seeing as it gets a bit wearing after a while. The Fijians are very friendly and want to talk and most of them genuinely want to know all about us, not just talking about themselves! We hired mopeds for 4 days and managed to get around a bit of the island. We did not go as far as we would have liked as the roads are very pot holed as the rainy season has just finished, they had had very bad flooding in January. Everywhere we went the locals waved and shouted Bula, which means hello. Abby managed to walk her moped into a ditch on the first day that we were out, and did a bit of superficial damage which then had to be paid for. We visited some beautiful orchid gardens that were once the holiday home of actor Raymond Burr, (Perry Mason for those old enough to remember).
