¡Hola!
Well, day 4 of the adventure..and actually, they have flown by so far, it still feels like I just arrived, so I guess that's a really good thing! Today, was the day of cleaning. I woke up very very homesick, and went to call mi madre, however I could not get ahold of her. I was standing in a phone booth, next to a group of drunken old rasta men, sharing the first 12 pack of the día. Did I mention that this was at 8 en la mañana?? Anyway, I had some tears and one of the men looked at me and said, "Get off of da phone wit ya boyfriend gurl, we don´t need no tears here from da pretty girls, no cryin mon." I really didn't know how to take that, so I went home and cried. Kidding! I got ahold of mi madre, and we made a game plan. I went to the supermarket, and bought myself some rubber gloves, paper towel, citrus disinfectant soap and sponges..and went to work cleaning the hell out of the kitchen in mi casa. I felt much better...and possibly a little obsessive compulsive, but we've been over the princess thing before!
Anyway, if everything goes according to plan, the house I will be moving into apparently is "a mansion" compared to the other homes, which would be just lovely. I'm hoping to move in with Aloisa, a very nice lady that I met here. That would be splendid. And spanish lessons today were honestly 110% better, I have a private class now with a woman named Charlene, who goes exactly the speed I need, and speaks perfect english as well. My confidence level was boosted back up, and the 4 hours sped by. Well, as much as 4 hours can speed by when you are in escuela.
Did you know that you can sunburn your eyelids? Apparently you can. I discovered this this morning when I woke up and could barely open my eyes. It's muy sexy.
Well that's all I have to update for now... more when new exciting things happen!!
