So after falling asleep so quickly after dinner last night, I awoke in a haze of confusion. Where's the car? Why am I not sweating? Coming to, I realised it was 5am, spoke to D, did some more washing, had another shower and sorted out the car then watched TV. So a really productive morning...
I set off for Margs at about 12.30, and the drive took about 3 and a half hours. The scenery was just so completely different to up north it was hard to believe I was in the same country, let alone the same state! There was so much greenery, and sadly a lot more traffic. Arrived in Margs and was getting more and more excited by the km... SO MANY WINERIES! Got me well and truly psyched for tomorrow's wine tour.
Got to Prevelly Caravan Park and booked in for two nights - it was a really lovely place and not too far from town. Drove to Surfer's Point and watched the lunatics kitesurfing in the gale force winds, before deciding my hair looked dreadful enough as it was so I hopped back into the car and headed into town (sans map - GET IN). Called home to let them know I was here safe and sound and then wandered down the high street where I came across Settlers Tavern.
A pint and a lamb cutlet and halloumi salad later I was feeling ever so content. I left the pub and went for a scenic drive on my way back to the caravan park. It was a pretty chilly evening and I hoped that it would warm up a bit tomorrow. Have gone from one extreme to the other, and just never satisfied with either. I was going to make it back to Surfer's Point for sunset but there were far too many clouds, hopefully it will be visible tomorrow night. Don't want to miss out on a Margs sunset!
