It was raining yet again this morning. I think the weather was befitting my mood in that I had to return back to civilisation and be sociable again! Went and had breakfast at Dylan's on the Terrace as a sort of last hurrah - had a veggie breakfast which was delicious, much better than the one I had yesterday at Dome! I was going to go and visit Middleton Beach before I left, but as the rain was so relentless I decided against it. So began my last epic road trip in WA, the 500km north back to Fremantle.
The journey took about 5 hours, with various stops along the way. I managed to get a parking spot outside Laurie's hostel and then met up with her, went a got a coffee and caught up on all the goings on from the past three weeks. We then accompanied people from her hostel to a bar, The Left Bank, for free cider (and beer) and $7 pizza. Got chatting to lots of people which was a nice break from the solitary of the last week. Met a Swede called Arvid who was headed to Sydney that night, and his Aussie friend Toby, both who had come up from Margaret River so the latter could drop his friend at the airport.
The bar was closing so we left and regrouped back at the hostel. There was a group of us who believed the night to be young and so we headed out in search of another establishment that would still be open in the late hours of Sunday. Ended up at a really terrible club, but we managed to dance our troubles away none the less.
It was nice to be back to reality, although I am going to miss the freedom and epicness that was my journey through WA.
