After surfers got no the bus to noosa. Met a really nice girl from Manchester and ended up checking into the hostel she had booked. Had a pretty chilled couple days just sunbathing and watching movies in the evening as there wasn't a massive night life. On the last day we walked all the way through the national park from the main beach to sunshine beach, we're hoping to see some koalas but didn't see much except from a few washed up jelly fish wich we recused with our flip flops back to the sea. Our theory was that karma would prevent them stinging us in the future. After the 3rd naked 70 year man we concluded we had accidentally found a nudist beach and quickly moved on! My next bus took me to Harvey bay where I spent one night in the hostel before we set off at 6in the morning in our 4x4's on the ferry to Fraser island. Met two really nice Canadian girls and an American girl who I shared a car and tent with. On the first day we went to a couple of lakes, the water was amazingly clear and so warm! arrived at camp late, cooked a BBQ then sat out on the beach watching the stars . when we went to bed had to make sure all our food was locked away, didn't want our tent to be ripped by dingoes! Next day we woke up to rain, did a lot of driving round, managed to knock the glass out the wing mirror, oops! So much fun though! Went to a place called champagne pools, a series of rock pools where the waves come in and bubble up the wholes in the rock like a jacuzzi, was only in less than 60 seconds though as there waaaaay too many bluebottle jelly's. That night at camp it was raining soooo hard, the guide made us vote wether we wanted to pay$17.50 to spent the night in a hostel or stay and risk the camp flooding.... So obviously we chose to stay, we were some of the lucky ones who's tent stayed dry, others weren't so lucky and spent the night sleeping in the trucks. The BBQ that night was very soggy, and so we spent most the evening playing UNO and drinking games with the bags of goon we had.
When we arrived at the hostel again there was a sign advertising a farming job with chicken the next day, so we all signed up. Up at 4 in the morning the farmer came and picked up us, we then spent the next 3 and a half hours chasing and picking up chickens by their feet 4 at a time, and holding them while they were vaccinated! Very very strange! Got covered in poo and feathers, but was definitely worth it for $70! Got a 14 hour night bus tonight, got it all planned with the girl from America downloaded films on her iPad, got some snacks and wine so should be a pretty good ride!!
