After what felt like the longest journey ever and enough plane food to last a life time I'm finally in Vietnam! I'm one of six new people joining the tour, bit weird joining what seems to be a pretty tight group...but I'm sure after a few days it'll be like we've always been part of the group. Everyone seems nice, mainly English, two from Norway, an American & one from Australia.
Ho Chi Minh is a crazy place, I will never be able to get across how mad the roads are here and I've never seen so many bikes in my life! Whole families travel on one moped, usually the baby does the steering. Apparently the best way to cross the road is to just walk out and they'll go around you...think I'm getting the hang of it.
One of the girls had her bag stolen on the first night. A moped with two lads drove on the pavement and literally ripped it off her. I will sleep with my bag on for the rest of my trip.
In the morning we visited the tunnels used by the soldiers in the Vietnam war, our guide was called Hi Fat Man and he had 2 fingers missing...not sure why. I crawled in the tunnels for a few meters and jumped out at the first opportunity, I gave it a go and that was enough. A few of us went to explore after lunch to check out the palace, cathedral and market. The palace to me looked like a travelodge, give it a miss.
Im more excited about the overnight train, lots of bags and lots of beer we headed for the station. The train was surprisingly better than any of us thought, four in each little room with bunk beds and tv. Only 10 hours to go and a 4.30 start in Nha Trang.

Bestest friend in the whole wide world :) Looks amazing! Sounds scary, muggers, tunnels and getting run over are things you should normally avoid! Love you sweet cheeks, stay safe! Xxx
