We left Wanaka this morning for Queenstown. After another lovely scenic drive through winding mountain roads we had a quick look around the town centre. It seems lovely set by a lake (again) surrounded by mountains (again) and I must say after days of driving through wilderness its feels good to be back in a proper town with shops and bars and mobile phone signal! We sat by lake and ate our picnic which was lovingly prepared by Kat (we're trying some cost cutting methods now) and enjoyed the view.
This afternoon we went to check out the bungy site. Woah!!!!! It looked terrifying, seriously I was so up for it before but then we saw them jump. The one we've chosen is the worlds first bungy site its on a bridge over a river with a freefall drop of 43m but it looked far far worse. You could choose to be submereged in the water too (if you really wanted to!). But after much deliberation we have decided we didn't have the right outfit on (don't want out tops round our chin after all) but we are definately going to do it tomorrow, well not definate.... watch this space theres still time to chicken out.
Then we headed up the gondola sky lift up to the skyline pavilion at the top of a mountain 400m above Queenstown. Was an awesome view over the town and there was the opportunity to do another bungy (?!) but we passed and opted instead for the luge. We had already done the luge in Singapore but this beat it hands down, just had to dodge the pathetic girls who couldn't drive for toffee ha ha.
