march 1st - 10th

last weekend, the girls and i moved a few bus stops down the road to sunny spit junction where we found a cute little 2-bed appartment with amazing views of the spit and long bay. the mornings and evenings on our lovely veranda are particularly beautiful and we can often see boats sailing past and beautiful sunsets. yesterday we were very lucky to have 3 white cockatils visit us - u know the ones with the spiky yellow hair so we fed them some bread and screamed a bit (we were quite excited!!) we also regularly see loraqeets - they look like small colourful parrots and look rather attractive next to our coloured christmas lights that we have put up on the balcony.

my job has been going extremely well, and i get to talk to lots of people who have done a similar trip to what charlie & i did and lots who are going to do the same. its very exciting putting together an itinerary for them so that they can make the most of their time and money and i can recommend them places that i have been. i also work riGHT by the beach in manly so often when im early for work i go and sit by the sea and watch people surfing etc. its really special.

on sunday morning, we got up early to go kayaking (except we didnt end up leaving until 11.30!!!) - you know what girls are like! we were still recovering from a big night on friday but had the funnest time. we kayaked under the spit bridge and around the next bay and only had 2 accidents where i very almost fell in and also where i knocked jenny over the head with my oar (accidentally of course). we then went to a friend of alice's brothers for a barbie in milsons point right by the harbour bridge (check out the photos).
