Our last day in Kanchanaburi was a very busy one. There was too much for us to see by ourselves so we joined a tour and managed to do everything in one day. After an 8am start, we headed for the Erawan Waterfalls. It's a stunning 7 tier waterfall in the middle of a National Park. We spent a couple of hours there. We managed to climb as high as the 5th tier - was starting to get quite challenging at this point, and the heat didn't help. We decided to spend the rest of our time swimming in one of the waterfall pools. Bit cold at first, but a great way to cool off after all the walking. The pool was full of fish - they seemed to think our ankles were food.
Spent the rest of the day doing 'history' stuff. Went to the Hellfire pass museum and memorial centre. We learnt a lot about the Thai-Burmese railway during the war, and the British prisoners of war who were involved with the project. We also had a ride on the death railway, and ended up at the Bridge over the River Kwae.
We're now on the islands of Koh Tao - beautiful tropical island. Spending time relaxing on the beach! Staying in a bungalow about 12ft from the beach - perfect. Not much internet service on the island - will update as we can.
