Yay another friend has arrived, great to see her and also the goodies that she has bought along!! Can't wait to open the prosecco that she managed to fit in her case woooooo hoooooo!!
First evening as always was spent at Matt & Nick's Bar drinking lots of cocktails and then dinner at Little Bit of Bagan for some yummy local food (although I stick to the safe options)!
We thought that we would have a lazy day the next day and lay round the pool.....this would have been fine until Matt, Piers & a paddle board got involved! Between us we decided that it would be a good idea to try and paddle board in the pool which again would have been fine if i'd just watched rather than joining in. My first go went well and I managed to stay on the board, so I thought that I would try again.....this time it didn't go so well. Matt slowly pushed the board away from the edge of the pool as i wobbled and yes you can guess I fell in and hurt myself, nothing unusual there then! Luckily Piers stopped me from knocking myself out on the side of the pool but I did twist my knee as falling in the water which meant it popped out of place :-( anybody that knows me well knows that this sort of thing is bound to happen to accident prone me!
Knee cap back in place I was hoisted out of the pool, not sure who was looking more shocked; me, Piers or Matt! Matt quickly used his first aid training and rushed off to get ice....oh and gin! Always a good pain relief lol! We decided not to get Richard as I'm sure he is getting very fed up with the amount of times I've already injured myself and it's only been a month! When Richard did finally come & find us he rushed off to the chemist to get a knee strap which I'm now going to have to wear until it heals.
The next day I thought that Tem & I could go exploring some temples and also Ananda festival which is currently taking place....harder than I thought with my knee hurting as much as it did but quick dose of painkillers and then we hired some e bikes.....at least I didn't have to walk! Great morning exploring and also managed to fit in a manicure & pedicure which cost 8,000 kyats which is about £5!!
It's great to have some girly company here, it's strange how the little things can make you think about and miss home, friends & family! And yes I am missing you all!!
Here is to the next few busy days with Tem, I'm sure there will be cocktails involved most days!
