Yay our lovely friends arrived today! Their flight was due in at 9:20am but they managed to get an earlier flight which arrived at 7:20am so it was a mad rush to get to the airport in time to greet them!
First thing we did was go balloon spotting, we were lucky enough to arrive in the hotel zone (common landing place) just as the balloons landed so they saw how magical it was!
It was then time to get them checked into the hotel so we headed back & they presented Richard & I with the biggest bag of goodies we've ever seen! Excited was an understatement especially as I saw that it was packed with some of our favourite things!! Didn't realise that I miss crisps as much as I do!
The rest of the day was spent on e bikes exploring the temples.... Nick doesn't do tourist temple visits so we were very surprised when he was actually enjoying himself!! The day was finished off by sunset cocktails up the Aureum Tower (quite a few cocktails, which meant a few fuzzy heads in the morning oops).
The next morning meant an early start as it was time to go on a balloon ride over Bagan, I was lucky enough to get a space in the basket with Nick & Sarah so I could enjoy the flight with them! Another beautiful 1 hour flight with bubbly served afterwards, definitely the best way to start the day.
Back to the hotel for breakfast after the flight and then another day out on the e bikes. This time we visited a village called Minantu where they make silver and silk scarves.
It was amazing seeing how these people live and the things they use to produce lovely items & make a living. We met two ladies called Nu Nu & Ti Ti who were happy to show is around and introduce us to their family members which included Grannie who was still making and smoking cigars at the age of 91!! I hope I look as good as her at that age!
Nu Nu spoke fantastic English so I told her of my plans to find a school to volunteer at during my time here and she very kindly offered to take me to the school she went to in the village....so watch this space :-)
That evening was another cocktail filled evening which included a sunset boat trip to pig island and dinner at one of my favourite restaurants Moon, a few more sore heads the next morning!
All in all a great couple of days with our lovely friends!

Thanks to Rich and Em for showing us the sights and spending time with us. Thanks to the OB team - we leave here somwehat jealous after one busy short holiday!
