Broometime
Broometime is broometime, just because it is sooooo hot and you cannot even think about moving at a fast pace! It is true for the last 6 days, I have been doing nothing but taking it easy and thoroughly enjoying being on holiday.
I have spent my mornings sleeping in until 8ish, either going for a run, a swim and yoga or getting ready to catch the free 10am bus into town. The town in rather small, but has everything a girl needs. For me, a few new tops and shorts with less material!!!
In the afternoons, I have been taking to the lazing on the beach, doing some serious work on my tan; or lazing by the pool, doing some serious work on my tan. Sadly, the sea is full of stinging Jelly Fish so you cannot swim - I sware they are stupid, just like Lemmings perhaps - becoming stranded to control their own population.
In the evenings, I watch the sun-set on cable beach, sometimes going for a run or good stroll. I return to the backpackers and usually end up doing something completely unpredictable. So far, my nights include:
- a trip to the open-air cinema to watch an aboriginal film, Ten Canoes - the moral of the story being be careful what you wish for, and funnily enough, that night I saw a shooting star as I gazed at the big screen.
- a tame night out at the local Irish Bar, with the lovely Sam, John, Elizabeth and John.
- a crazy night at Oasis in town. Here I met up with my pals from the Easyrider and Steve and I yelled like crazy for Petra to win the wet t-shirt competition. I got home at 4am that night - covered in red soil and wet clothes. It was hilarious.
- a suave dinner at the Old Zoo Cafe, with Sam, John, Michael (a gay Australian playwright - histerical), Rene and Ben. We shared two deserts of Toblerone cheesecake and carrot cake - pure indulgence after a mains of Salmon and Barramundi, on a bed of rice rolls, vegetables and soy-style dressing.
- a beach party, where Patrick wrote songs on his guitar based on peoples stories. Philippe told his story of his flip-flops, which resulted in him loosing a much loved flip flop and the wearing of odd flip flops. Coincidently, I proceeded to walk home in one of my much beloved brown flip flops and one black – much larger than the size of my feet. The dark can do crazy things! In my quest to also find the hair slide I lost the following morning, I did in fact find my hair slide, while also finding $15 dollars on the beach, which will now pay for me to buy some more brown flip flops!
So, I continue to have the time of my life, with no doubt that come tomorrow, it is just going to get wilder as I again meet with Jess and we revel in the delights that Broome has to offer, including Camel Riding.
So for now, adieu – I will update you with my next installment very soon. I hope that you are all well in Blighty and any other country where you may be reading this from. I miss you all lots am thinking of you gearing up for Halloween and 11th November.
Take Care, Lots of Love, Em x
