Paul It's official, I'm now totally green with envy! Sounds like you're having a great time of it Em. All these experiences, reminds me of my travelling days. I managed to scale a few volcanoes back then and got altitude sickness the once for my efforts, not good. Still I bet the trip back down was great fun. I've been thinking about the problem of bag slashing and remembered a backpacker ploy to at least prevent someone from taking your valuables that way. Use chicken wire to line your bag. It might seem a little odd but it will work. The bag can still be slashed but the wire will hold all your belongings safely inside. It's worth a thought, no doubt you can get some in the town. You wouldn't need much to keep those wandering criminal hands at bay!

Carolina Hi Emma, I am very happy for you. The location is definitely not ideal.
