We stayed in Sydney for 5 days and decided it would be fun place to be sent to work in for a year or so. It has lots af nice restaurants and cafes and parks and beaches that we could definately get used to! We took millions of photos of the bridge and the opera house because its just so amazing to see them in real life. When we first saw the opera house we actually thought it was a bit yellow and not that pretty. It does look better in the night when it's all lit up though. When we were in Sydney we had to go and visit Summer Bay (from Home & Away for all you non watchers) which is filmed at Plam Beach, 1 and a half hours north of Sydney. We went on a Tuesday and were told that this was a day that they filmed, we spent ages getting ready that morning for when we met the stars of our lives and could hardly eat as we were too excited (well, ok we could eat fine but we were very excited). When we got off the bus there were no film crews or famous people and we actually had no idea which bit of the beach was meant to be Summer Bay! Slightly dishartened we wandered up the beach and eventually noticed those familiar sand dunes where they often sit to ponder about their latest turmoil, and beyond them was Alf Stewarts Surf club! No people but there was the fence that they always use, and the grass that they walk to school along, and the sandy path down to the beach. We acted out a few scenes at the surf club (which was quite embarassing when people saw us) and sat on the sand dunes eating our penut butter sandwiches waiting for the beautiful people of summer bay, but none came. We did ask a guy in a shop if he knew anyone and he said that he used to surf with Sam, so that was nice to know anyway.Â
Another day we went to Toronaga Zoo which was nice with lots of animals etc, the view was amazing too. On our last night in sydney we went out for pizza and had a lovely kangaroo pizza, did feel a bit bad after the cute kangaroos in the zoo.Â
