Hey again from me!!
I hear you guys have been having a few problems with logging into my website? I dont know why that is. I have had problems myself actually getting on here to write this entry but i have mangaged it now as you can see!!!
This week, i was a bit naughty and me and jo rented a car and drove as far as lorne along the great ocean road. The reason i say it was naughty is because i was suppsed to wait until sarah and claire were over until doing it but hey ho! It was absolutely out of this world it really was. It is the most spectacular coastline i think you will ever get anywhere on this earth. We were travelling down in the early evening so the sunset was upon us and it look amazing. Surprisingly chilly though but i managed to jump in and out of the car to grab some snaps. I will put them up on here very soon. (i need help doing it because i dont have a clue!). As i say, we stopped in a small middle class town called Lorne. It was lovely. We stayed in a nice motel for some sleep and then regretably drove back to Melbourne. The thing is with me is that i am in Oz to see the countryside and all of the beautiful views so the City isnt really going down too well with me hence why it was so hard having to go back to Melbourne.
I then stayed a few more days in Melbourne and decided that it was time to pick up and go somewhere different again. I was offered a car for 3 days with unlimited millage for $120 which is about 60 squids so i took up the offer and decided to drive the 10 hours to Sydney to meet my friend claire who is Kingsleys best mate Daryls Girlfriend. She has been in Oz since september now. So i set off at 2:30pm on wednesday and drove 7 hours across the most barron and dry land i have ever seen. It was just me and a million trucks! I think i must have only seen about 20 cars the whole 7 hours! I also looked out for Kangaroos the whole way and didnt see one! I joked with myself (as i had nothing else to do coz i was all on my own and also had no flipping radio in the crappy rented car!!!) that if i was lucky enough to see a Kangaroo, it would be a dead one on the side of the road!! So i drove until about 9:30pm that evening and thought it would be sensible to find a bed for the night. I randomly picked a town called Yass. It was the most backward hilly billy town i have ever seen. It was so quiet and erie!! I pulled up in the nost suitable looking motel which turned out to be a bloody "christian" motel. At reception there was loads of signs saying "god is always on your side" and all this s***e. So, i thought i would stay anyway. As you can probably imagine, i didnt sleep very well. There were very odd white stains on my bed covers aswell which was great! Ha ha!! The only thing that kept me sane that evening in the motel room was an episode of Teachers (or teaching to me and kingsley know it!!!! haha).
I woke at 9am and had a shower and my poor dad was trying to call me but being in the blimin outback, i couldnt get a signal!! I asked him to call back in and hour (10am my time, 11pm your time) when i was back on the road in the car. And he did bless him! As we were chatting....guess what i saw on the side of the highway....yes...a bloody dead Kangaroo!! I knew that would happen. I wanted to see on all healthy bouncing through the countryside but no...a dead frazzled one! Bless. I was gonna take a pic but thought that would be a bit sick you know!!!
So, i drove probably another 3 hours and arrived in Sydney. It is so very different to Melbourne. I drove around getting my bearings and suddenly saw the Sydney Opera House and quietly squeeled to myself in the car because for the first time....i knew i was actually in Australia!!! I know that sounds stupid but its true because i suppose us brits always associate that amazing building to Oz!! I also drove over the big bridge...name escapes me right now embarressingly enough! Ummmmmm...no, can get it. Its the one people climb? Harbour bridge i think it called. I parked up the car and lugged my bloody big heave backpack across Sydney trying to find a hostel that Claire had booked me into. Sydney YHA. I asked some directions, and got there in the end. I must have looked a right t*** because i looked totally lost and was carrying my big Lonely Planet guide of australia!!! (thanks mum!!!). I eventually found hostel and when i got in and put my bag down, i suddenly started to feel faint and i just knew if i didnt sit down quickly, that would be it. Horizontal on the ground. The receptionists looked very worried for me and were all mothering me! It is more muggy warm here in Sydney and i think it all caught up on me!! Anyway...i am sharing with 3 other girls. I havent met them yet coz they wernt in but i think they are all french as i read their clothing labels!! MAde in France. So, that should be interesting seeming as though i dont speak it fluently. Alot of hand gestures coming up i think! Hee hee :o)
I am meeting Claire in an hour to go out for some drinks which should be great. I am glad i am here with her. I will probably stay here until Sar comes over and then travel back down to Melbourne to meet her at the airport!! Excited about that!!!
Well, i will write another entry soon as this internet cafe is right next door to my hostel! Oh, the hostel is great by the way. Clean and really modern. Has 500 rooms so im sure i will meet some brits!!
Loads of love to you all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
