Well.....im here!!!!! It is so surreal you cannot believe. Yes, i did do my back in the day i left for oz but this was my own stupid fault as i challenged my beast of a brother at a weight lifting competition. Clearly he won hands down but hence why i did my back in! This was on a saturday night whilst heavily under the influence but i couldnt look the weak one! (joseph, i cannot believe you can even pick that thing up let alone get it above your head!!!! True Cattelona!!!! x)
Yeh, so i left england in the pouring rain and my first stop was singapore. I was lucky enough to be sitting on the plane to singapore with a guy from Melbourne. Yes, he kept looking down my top but i learned where the best places were to go in Melbourne which was handy!! (with men...as long as you get something out of them...its worth it. if not, dont bother!)
I stopped in singapore for only half and hour but managed to get outside where there was a bar. I was standing there for only 60 seconds and had to quickly dive back inside to the air con as it was that hot! I couldnt believe the humidity. I very almost passed out but knew i had a flight to catch!!!
Back on the dreaded plane it was for me. Last half of my journey thought. (p.s. quantas really look after you...reccomended!!!). I was then swapped into a seat in the fire exit which was so nice! All the leg room you ever needed! Although i was asked when they gave me the seat whether in an emergency would i be prepared to open the door???!!! I was like....yeh, no probs!!! As long as im comfy!! I was sat by a young german couple and they were really loud and annoying and then on the other side was 3 kids from about 7yrs and younger!! God, the mother really couldnt control them so they ran riot the whole 9 hours to melbourne!! I almost strangled them all when i was just...just....nodding off and then they would scream....eerrggghhh!!!
So, i didnt get any sleep the whole time and arrived in Melbourne airport ahead of schedule at 6:10am. My friend Jo was to meet me at the airport and i had images of us running towards each other with tears in our eyes. Reunited Best mates...you know....but for those people who know jo...guess what...she was no where to be seen. I only had my uk mobile on me with barely any credit so i called her...and she was still in bed after what turned out to be a very heavy night out. She had forgotten about me!!! (jo...if you read this...dont be making up the excuses...you forgot about little old me travelling over 10,000 miles to see you but hey...its you...i forgive ya....just dont do it again!!!)
Anyway....i just stood there for 1 1/2 hours mind you...just taking in the atmosphere with my trusty bags as friends. Then jo arrived in the taxi to pick my up and we drove into the City...and wow....it is such a huge place. You cannot comprehend how huge it is by photos. She is currently renting a lovely house in a place called South Yarra in the suburbs of Melbourne with 2 lovely girls. Jo had work at 9am this day so she went to work and i slept until she came home at 5:30pm! I then got up, had some lasagne which Molly one of the housemates had made(damn good cook) and then went back to bed until 9am the next morning! Jet lag is a horrible thing...trust me. But im over it now.
I have been doing alot of sightseeing. I have been out into Melbouren...put it this way..it is a very open minded City. Sex shops on pretty much every corner and you can actually see men going in and out all night long!!! Ha ha ha...sad b******s!!! Go home to your wives!!!! Ha ha ha!!!! The people are so friendly. After you finish a meal and the waiter comes over to collect your plates they say..."how did it go" ???? How weird! You feel like saying...."well, it went really well thankyou???" Like its an activity or something? Oh and another phrase they love out here is "Too easy". I went and ordered 2 large(of course) glasses of wine and the guy poured them and turned to me and said..."too easy...that will be 14 bucks please"...i was like...what??? It means ...all cool...kind of thing. Very strange creatures.
I have been to St Kilday which is a small hippy town by the beach. Did that today. It was really cool and relaxed (like most of australia really!!!). Lots of little boutiques and market stalls. Oh, and the food is amazing here. Well priced, and the portions are huge!!!
It was 38 degrees today. It is so damn hot it is hard to describe. It does make you feel really lathargic and lazy but hey ho...i am here in oz to do absolutely sod all....so thats what i will do...but just get a really nice tan whilst doing sod all!!!! Sounds good to me!! (and probably you hard working lot back home too!! Poor things!!!! hee hee!! ;O)
I am contemplating renting a car next week. Jo has to work so i will probably just go out on a little adventure myself. I will let you know if i do!!! I havent really taken many pictures other than of boring trams and possoms and the household Staffordshire Bull Terrior called Monty oh and me and jo lost in Melbourne all hot and sweaty and pissed off!! But when i get some worth looking at...i will put them up here.
Well, i will update you all as i go along. Dont work to hard guys. Im not. In fact, im going to another beach tomorrow to sunbathe so nah...thats definately not working too hard hey!!!
Oh, by the way mum....i am taking care of myself whilst sunbathing. I am using factor 30 and drinking plenty of water okay!!!! So, no lecture on the phone please!!!! Love you mum.xxx
