A grey day but not cold..not sure what is ahead of us today as it is Election Day-hard to believe there could be unrest as these people all seem so kind and infused about us,treating us politely and never mind if we need a photo or don't buy from them.service is always good in restaurants;traffic a little more hectic/chaotic at times and there is a bit of horn tooting.shall see what the day brings but feel we shouldn't cross the bridge to the old part of town-that's where the bomb was last time.have plenty to keep us occupied anyway.
Late yesterday we planned to go up the nearby tower for panoramic sunset views but so did everyone else,so didn't do the climb-not too disappointed army calves are feeling the walkin abitanyway-previous days walking up narrowing steep streets.
We then easily spent the next few hours discovering a new area to us of designer..(not quite)but smarter shops of everything;the old local men were sitting out on there little low stools chatting to their mates, amidst a few cats!
Can't believe how much to see and do,and then to decide where to stop for the next drink or meal.
Enjoyed a green chicken curry last night, washed down with a beer, followed by al local red,all soreasonably priced.
Still need toplanounext few days-a trip on the harbour, although it looks chaotic at the ferryterminal-the young rain can deal with that!
No noise outside at all yet ,which seems normal for here-deserted streets til about 9am as I discovered as I roamed earl yesterday am,but felt safe as I watched the locals sweeping, setting up there shops, feeding the cats or just having a chat.certainly is pumping during the evening with people overflowing on the streets in restaurant area and loud music.yet to see disorderly behaviour though.
Keep you posted ...I hope!disappointed my first couple of screed don't seem to have reappeared!x
