Hi everyone,
I haven't posted anything in the past few days. Not because I haven't wanted to but because there hasn't been much to report on so I figured I'd summarise the whole time in the south of France in a blog just before I head off to England.
The weather here overall has been pretty terrible, rain most days except for today and yesterday which have been more like what I would expect for a European summer.
Only visited one chateau whilst here but it was a beautiful building. Very small, the chateau itself would be no bigger than my house back home but 2 stories and a cellar. And a vineyard out the front.
Also went on a brief wine tasting at 11am a few days ago which was something a bit different.
The wine here is unbelievably amazing, even the cheap stuff (like bowler's run cheap) is just as good as our $20-30 wines an it's as alcoholic as all hell. Around here you'll struggle to find a bottle under 13.5% and even then the bottle is Lying and will be closer to 15% or even higher. Doesn't take too many glasses to get a buzz going.
The cheese is also amazing. But then again that is to be expected. It is impossible to find mass-produced cheese. Even at the local supermarket it's all local cheeses and it's cheap because there's no import costs.
The country side is beautiful to look at etc. etc.
There isn't really much else to say. Oh I finished my 2nd book? That's about it.
I leave for england soon and spend a week with Katy, for those of you who know her. Then I go back down to London and stay with my aunty and uncle for a few days before flying to Germany for a weekend and stay with my uncle there, which was just booked in today and he told me " the beer gardens await"
It won't be this long until you next heat from me
A la prochaine
