So that's it I'm on the train to the south of France leaving Paris behind. I did most of what I wanted to do and see and have left many things behind to do but the two main things I wanted to do was visit musee d'orsay and go to this vegetarian restaurant that it basically one long table and share a meal with the locals but if I ever make it to Paris again they are at the top of my list.
The food in Paris is beautiful but most of the time the best food was at the places that weren't French I recommend the Indian and the moroccan and the Japanese. Traditional French food is over priced and cliche. If you want good French food there's a beautiful restaurant on king street I recommend that. Try the snails, I have but there's nothing to them.
The people aren't that much different I mean in any city you need to watch out for the scammers and the pickpockets but you just need to blend in. Wear a sad face and walk with purpose and people will think your French. And if you want to go all out wear a scarf and attach a cigarette to your lower lip at all time and super glue a wine glass to your hand and walk around yelling 'un peu de vin rouge' and 'du feu, du feu' consult your babel fish for translation.
On a side note I FOUND WALLY at Versailles, completely forgot to mention that before. Some guy, I kid you not, had the red and white striped shirt, a red beanie and circle glasses, I don't whether it was a prank or wether it was real but I have a photo as evidence
I would also recommend the hostel I stayed at but only really because of the location. Some of the staff weren't that friendly and they only allowed you to pay for two nights at a time. Every morning I'd sit in the lobby and listen to a yelling match about lost reservations or not being able to extend stays but thankfully they had a second place nearby that usually had rooms if there was overflow which there usually was.
All in all I'm glad I chose Paris to spend my first week abroad by myself. Beautiful city one day I will return.
Or maybe I'll move to Paris the French spell my name right EVERY TIME WITHOUT ASKING. Honestly is it too much to ask for?
A la prochaine
ELLIOTT
