Yo yo Brothers and Sisters, I've been in and out of Queenstown over the last week. Up to Franz Josef and down to Milford sounds. It is our last day here and my last week in New Zealand.....boohoo :-(
In the last week I have....hired our second car of the trip and been on 2 road trips, hiked a glacier, been 'bombed' (rained) on a lot, driven over a 1000kms, drunk cocktails out of teapots, eaten too much chilli, seen a lot of mirror lakes, been in 3 different hot tubs, been bitten by a zillion sand flies, drunk fresh water straight out of the river, acquired a big white dressing gown, torn 2 pairs of pants...oppps no they are trousers not pants, been to watch some live rugby (sober!), had some very scenic wee wees, seen 100's of waterfalls, been lugeing again, mastered the art of steering a 3 seater bike....not an easy task!
The south island really is a beautiful place, but unfortunately it has rained a lot since we have been here. I am told this is one of the ways to see Milford Sounds (it created 100's of waterfalls all over the place) I am told the other 2 ways I should see it, is on a clear sunny day and in the snow season....so it looks like i need to get my bottom back to New Zealand at least 2 more times.... te he! Queenstown is a cool little place, lots of lovely places to eat and drink. This afternoon we made a spectacle of ourselves and hired a 3 seater bike and a chopper and rode through the street of Queenstown giggling. The video I’ve put up of Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/inbox/readmessage.php?t=1057125752849) is at the end of our hour, i think a video at the beginning of our hour would be much, much more amusing. They are very, very hard things to steer and I m flattered that i was entrusted with the lives of 2 others and anyone that came in our path!
I am hungry now so off to get some food.
Love 'n' kisses
Ellen
