Hello everyone,
I am two days away from leaving, my bag is all packed (all but a pair of socks and a few pairs of pants!) and my journal is one of the last things to do.
You all probably know what I will be up to (or at last what I aim to be up to!) over the next year..... but for those of you that don't here goes.....

I am flying into Lima on Thursday to join a group travelling through Peru and Bolivia, during my time there I will be putting my new found fitness to the test and hiking the Inca trail, visiting the Amazon Rainforest and staying with a local family on Lake Titicaca. From there I join another group taking me through Brazil and en route some of the places I will be visiting are the Salt Lakes and the Iguassu Falls ending up in Rio for the end of November. From here I take a flight down to Santiago to spend a few days.
I am then off to Sydney for a few months to drink lots of beer with my Brother and Gemma, celebrating my birthday, Christmas and New Year! As well as drinking beer, learning to surf and catching some sun, I also hope earn a few pennies!
I am then off to Auckland to meet Alison where we hope to spend a couple of months travelling down to Christchurch. And then back to Oz to continue our travels.

Wow Ellen it all looks amazing. I'm enjoying the posts at this rate you will have written your first travel book before long. I hope the flights improve, the food sounds interesting to say the least! I'm sure after a year away we will be able to tempt you with a good cup of English tea.
