Today I left the gap medics house in a red taxi (I still don't know how to spell what they're actually called) for the last time. We fitted 16 people and multiple packs into the tray of this taxi and set off into Chiang Mai dropping people off at their various destinations along the way. Sophie and I had booked massages so we dashed through the monsoon to the hotel and spend the next hour or so in total relaxation. We then met up with Emily for lunch before saying goodbye. Emily has been my roomie for the last three weeks and we've had a lot of fun together so it was really quite sad saying goodbye to her. After a sad farewell Sophie and i flagged down a taxi and headed to the train station before boarding our train bound for Ayutthaya. We had booked a second class sleeper with a fan and after getting over our immediate thoughts of 'oh god what have we gotten ourselves into, it looks like its going to fall apart' we realised that it actually wasn't that bad, although top bunk probably wasn't the best idea, I was worried that we were going to o over a bump and I'd fall out. We chatted to some fellow backpackers from England and swapped travel stories before eating some dinner (next time I think I might pack my own dinner, train food is fairly average) and headed off to bed with the train rocking is to sleep.
